For people who are not familiar with Aerospace design competitions such as Cansat, I have provided official links for the
competition and Ryersons team website.
The project basically aims to introduce students to a feel for practical Aerospace programs through this cost efficient
method. Students prepare proposals, design documents, undertake actual construction and development of a low cost Satellite
which includes most satellite subsystems and has a particular telemetry mission. This Cansat is then launched to 3000ft followed
by briefing final post mission summary. The structure should be able to handle 20 to 25g loading.
A detailed structural design report was developed as a component design course project which served as a trade study for
the selection of the final design. CATIA V5 was used to design and perform simulations for static and vibration analysis.
